Elder scrolls call to arms quickie

What make a good solo game?

1) enermy ai
just play to the best of your abilities
trouble is this rules out sneaky tactics and ambushes from the enemy

2) Great heros Vs a lesser foes.. powerful heros vs lesser but progressively tougher enermies
spawn point.. a constant horde to slow you down from reaching your objective.
id say make waves.. wave 1 close combat wave. wave 2 ranged wave.. wave 3 hard to kill..

why? feels great carving though minions

Ref: Hardwired

2) Fog of war - random and limited activation
do you get 0-1-2-3- activations? maybe more   this turn...you might want 2 activation but suddenly having 1 is real trouble!

to be honest rolling to activate and failing and passing control back to the opponent or AI  its a terrible feeling..
I know they have the same chance to fail but  its annoying you often want at least 1 activation a turn..

Ref: Dragon Rampant

3) increase the enemy force
we know the enermy force is dumb so give it 25% 50% more?
you can pick it apart tactical...it just move to kill. with out a thought

or strategical reinforcements?  turn 3 5 7 they get re-enforced if you've not complete an objective

3) Random events
Card driven? table driven?
something you can not plan for happens.. if you played before you might know whats coming but not the order?

Ref: Rangers of shadow deep ...

4) Known events  IF when X do Y
takes away some exploration fun   if not y from a random deck,,,, you know what to exspect if not X

5) Scenarios  the mission your playing is specific

don't just play both side play something thought out.. some thing that knows one side is slightly dumber...

some one had played this tested this thinks its right..... what sucess rate do they find acceptable what sucess rate do you find acceptable ?

ref: Death Angel card game

6) random board events   hidden untill revealed by proximity locations

it was random but you chose the easy correct door striaght away or the  2 wrong doors 1st very card luck driven ... unless you can peak or change the locations before hand?
